A homage to one of my favourite artists ever, Mr Taylor (a.k.a. ). You can see the references I used here and here
This took quite a while to finish (working on it off and on for a few months, and waiting for a bright light to shine upon yours truly), for the following reasons:
1. It's a big project, the giraffe stands aproximately 21 inches tall and has several parts and details that had to be made separately, and put together.
2. Anything that requires wire armatures, epoxi, wingnuts, bolts and power tools makes me laaazy, hehehe.
3. I spent quite some time trying to "deconstruct" it and planning how I'd execute it.
4. I honestly never, ever, felt so much the weight of the responsibility of trying to make my work look, at least, decent enough for an artist of his caliber. I was so afraid to screw it up, it's not even funny. Ok, now that it's all over and I typped it down, it does sound kind of goofy.
Josh's creations have such powerful facial expressions, they are quite difficult to mimic using this medium. The giraffe can stand on its own (secured by bolts and wingnuts underneath the wooden base), so I'm somewhat pleased with that part.
Yikes, I was way too wordy. Enough from me. Hope you like it, mate! I'll be shipping it to you as soon as I get a chance.
Wa wa wi wa!! That's insane! Sooo awesome! Love it! Needless exclamation points!!!
21 inches..? Let me decipher that for a moment... times 2.5 is... whoa! over thirty centimeters! That must've taken forever @_@ The mouth opening and closing is a nice effect. I'd say it's been VERY well executed
This is...SPLENDID! There's not much more I can say other than that, 'cause my mind is just blown away by the character of this guy, the craft, everything.
